Bridget and Conor's Wedding at Armstrong Farms

Bridget and Conor planned their wedding outside on Love Pond at Armstrong Farms in Saxonburg.  Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate - it poured most of the morning until mid-afternoon.  But the owner Kathy Allen and the couple were quick thinking and flexible so they decided to have it in the basement of the barn.  But this is not your ordinary basement - it is a basement of a barn built over 100 years ago.  Which translates into a lot of charm and atmosphere.  The massive old beams were beautiful and Kathy tells a great story of how she steam cleaned it herself to bring back the original wood texture.

She, also, explained since it was a dairy barn it had a basement -  that would keep Bessie and her relatives cool in the summer and warm in the winter - apparently a lot of barns don't have a lower level.

But it turned out to be a charming Quaker ceremony in a cozy setting.  The weather cooperated in the end so we could take some portraits on the grounds. Which you'll see is a photographer's dream.

Bridget and Conor and their families made it a beautiful event to witness and the whole experience a great time. Thank you.
