Party Invitation

Family Photo Booth

Photo booths are not just for weddings and client parties.  Sometimes we break out the booth for a family event.  Nancy's family threw a great party for her mom who is turning 85 in just a few days.  Phyllis is a devoted church member, an avid bridge player, an admired former school teacher (calculas) and a daily customer at the Hanover Cafe.  Many friends from all these facets of her life came to celebrate with her family at Concord Baptist church in fabulous Frog Level, Virginia.  You'll see from the photos it was  a great time.

CATCH UP

OK - I've neglected my blog way too long - and really there has been so much to write about - lots of fabulous weddings, beautiful milestones and some awards for both Nancy and my self  that we'd like to share.   So my friend Vincent challenged me to get on the ball and get back to blogging.  Everyone should know about Vincent and his wife Elizabeth.  They are a couple from Evansville, Indiana. Pittsburghers will benefit from their photographic talents soon.  They are moving here this summer and will be a great addition to the photographic community. They are highly accomplished photojournalist who started photographing weddings a few years ago. I can't say enough great things about their devotion to their craft and talents.  Please enjoy their work at their website at:  http://elizabethvincentphotography.com/

And for those who know Nancy here is a bit of great news. Here is a photo of Nancy, left,  and her team in NYC this past September winning a National Emmy.  Nancy is my partner and 90% of the time the second photographer at most of my weddings. She has devoted her life to excellence in visual story telling.  This is her team at the Detroit Free Presses  4th National Emmy in three years.  Check out this years work at: http://www.freep.com/section/SPECIAL01/  It is a beautiful piece about a foster home that the paper covered for six years.   Congratulations to all!

Priya and Andy's Long Island Wedding

Priya and Andy were married in Bay Shore, Long Island at the beginning of the month.  They had a very sweet private first wedding-day meeting (well their dog Emma was there and some family members looking on - not exactly private - but it was still sweet) before the ceremony at the place the reception was being held, The Old Field Club.  Then we had some fun taking formals and headed to the church for the ceremony.  It was a gorgeous church where Andy was an alter boy. Now it holds even sweeter memories.    Thanks so much Priya and Andy - Nancy and I were so grateful to be witnesses.

Peace

Long Island Sangeet

A couple of weeks ago we traveled to Long Island, my home turf, to photograph the wedding of Priya and Andy. The night before we photographed a sangeet for 250.  This was a first for Nancy and me.

We had so much fun and from the photos you'll see how much fun the guests had from the dusk until the police came!  No joke.  A sure sign of a successful party!

Come back soon to see the wedding at St. Patrick's Churc in Bay Shore  and the reception at the Old Field Club in Seatuket.

Fun with Holly and Max

This is of Max and Holly at the beginning of the summer - actually still spring technically - but things haven't changed much since then - is this the best summer ever or what?  It's more like sprummer?

Well no matter Max is probably even cuter now as he was then - we let Max decide what was next - baseball, swings, running, slides or the hobby horse - freestyle all the way!  My favoriite little series is when Max gives his mom some flowers - aka grass. What a sweet gift!

Shelley and Mike's Detroit Athletic Club Wedding

Ok this is a long slide show - so sit back and enjoy the fun Shelley and Mike and their guests had at the Detroit Athletic Club in downtown Detroit.  There was no seperation of generations here - the dance floor was jammed all night for the fun songs and the romantic songs - for all songs and a conga-line  was even slipped in - against the groom's wishes - you'll have to come back and see the video presentation we have cooking to hear the best man's speech to get the back story on that!   Very funny!

There are a lot more photos to come from this  fabulous wedding - we visited the Spirit of Detroit, The famous Joe Louis Fist, Comerica Park and back to the DAC for an amazing occasion.

Thanks so much Shelley and Mike and famlies - it has been a distinct honor and pleasure!

Enjoy!

Rachel and Josh's Wedding

Rachel and Josh's recent wedding was a history tour of Pittsburgh.  It was appropriate we started at the Heinz History Center in the Strip for some portratis. The ceremony  was at a grand catherdral in Shaprsburg, St. Mary's. This is a classic of example of the amazing craftmenship and devotion to the church that prevailed back in the day.  It is worth a visit to this church - it will take your breath away.   Then the wedding party made a pitstop in the revitalized neighborhood of Lawrenceville.  This neighborhood is changing so quickly - all the hype on how hip it is is true.  A brief stop at one of the many murals sprouting up around town made for fun photos and was a nod to each of Rachel and Josh's service in Iraq. Thank you!   Then a quick visit to the statue of George Washington and Guyasuta on Mt. Washington and the final destination to the amazing Le Mont Restaurant.   Every stop along the way was a great experience. Thanks for the tour Rachel and Josh!  Congratulations.
